he Panther City Fountain,
located adjacent to the Flatiron Building in the heart of downtown,
was dedicated and officially presented to the City of Fort Worth on
June 26, 2002. The family of George F. Cravens, MD, FACS,
commissioned the fountain in commemoration of Fort Worth’s colorful
past and
nickname of Panther City.
Dr. Cravens
purchased the Fort Worth's historic Flatiron Building, adjacent to
Hyde Park in 1994. The Flatiron Building, which looks over Hyde
Park, is uniquely festooned with the heads of Panthers above the
second floor.
